If you would like to develop an appreciation of the connections between local natural history, built environment and impacts of everyday actions on our environment, if you would like to learn about environmental management within the community and if you would like to learn to identify common bird species this teacher summer course is for you.
The teacher summer course is designed to create an insight in environmental management within the community and what you as a single person can do to reduce your carbon footprint. It will also provide you with relevant computing skills to enable optimum exchange of information and best practice examples.
The summer course will be based on daily lectures and field excursions to water treatment plant, recycling facility, historic electricity generating station, and local wildlife areas to explore Ireland’s biodiversity, all complimented by slide presentations, demonstrations and workshops. Every day you will get an opportunity to discuss how to incorporate acquired knowledge into your daily life.
This summer course has been certified by Drumcondra education centre and will be particularly useful to teachers and people working with children in the area of environmental education.
